• In Freshman year, we might get our answer, but until then, I think they can easily go with the classic origin, before the Ultimate universe and first Raimi movie was a thing:

• A simple spider becomes radioactive by accident, and boom, once in a lifetime moment.

• Andrew Garfield’s Oscorp was the movie he got his powers in. Tobey got his on a science field trip to a Columbia University genetics lab. So Tom may have gotten bitten at an unnamed lab too

• This movie was exactly what I wanted and even more. Great job Sony and Marvel 👍🏼

• He doesn’t have to get bitten by an Oscorp spider. Originally in AF #15, he got bitten by the spider at a science exhibit. I’m gonna go with the science exhibit origin.

• Maybe it wasn’t gamma. In Homecoming, one of the crates in the plane held a lot of palladium arc reactors. The poisonous kind. Maybe that radiation coulda affected the spider?

• Freshman Year will likely give us our answers, given that it’s covering Peter’s canon MCU origin.

• I like the origin story from the animated series and Andrew Garfields Spidey where they touch on the science of cross-species genetics, that makes the most sense scientifically speaking. To me it stands to reason that Curt Connors be the person responsible as he was the one working on cross-species genetics with Lizard DNA, it stands to reason that he would try that science on more than just Lizards. To me it doesnt make much sense to say that Stark or Ozbourne were responsible, as they mostly focus on engineering and chemistry where Connors has a biology focus

• I love that Peter is pound for pound one of the strongest beings on Earth yet he still stumbled back when Tony popped out of his supposedly empty suit in Homecoming. It’s probably a silly thing to notice but those touches are why it’s so easy for me to empathize with Peter.

• In the original comic origin Oscorp didn’t make the spider so I’m not sure why this is a question. The spider just happened to go into a radioactive experiment.

• Spider could’ve been exposed to the space stone somehow. It’s a spider. The possibilities of how it became a vehicle to transfer super powers to Peter via a bite, are pretty vast

• I’m gonna be honest I didn’t take it as confirmation Oscorp didn’t exist. After all Norman didn’t have full resources to fully find this out, so I took it as it could exist but that he couldn’t find it. He couldn’t find an Oscorp he recognised, no tower it facilities from his earth. That doesn’t rule it out existing, it could exist just in a wildly different way than he knows, but it does rule it out bring where Peters Spider was from.

• I actually really like that because it not only makes sense with all the comic elements but explains why Tony was so fixated on this kid. He felt responsible so he looked out for him and tried to make it right and train him for good rather than evil. Would be neat if they missed one and it got into the sewers to bite miles.

• Surely there’s a universe where Mr. Diktovich is bit instead of Peter

• Doesn’t feel right cause If Tony knew that Peter was bit by a radioactive spider then he won’t ask that what technology Peter uses for wall crawling when he met Peter in civil war

• I think Stark will tie in somehow, but I imagine it was a class field trip to MIT or expo of MIT projects, since they all have their hearts set on that school. So many different groups working on super-soldier serum (and so many heroes tied to that storyline), it probably has something to do with that.

• Marvel is usually good at not inserting random stories or plot lines but the Tom Holland spider bite is one of those. Atleast they still have an opportunity down the road to explore that origin

• Here’s a question. How does Spiderman stick to buildings when the barbs on his fingers and feet are extremely small yet he wears gloves and boots????

• Matt Murdoc was affected by that chemical liquid stuff (that was never said where it came from) which enhanced his senses, and since he’s canon now, maybe something similar could be the case for Peter through an affected spider. Who knows.

• a cool take would be that peter designed the spider himself. i’ve never seen that done before. obv that wouldn’t be the case in the mcu but i think it’d be cool.

• Oscorp had nothing to do with his origin in the original comics. They don’t need Oscorp lol

• It also makes sense how he tells tony how whatever happened happened to get his powers because he didn’t want tony to know he was in stark tower

• Wasn’t it a science field trip in the comics? Could’ve been any building and idk if it was oscorp in Amazing Fantasy

• The fact that they never showed us how he got bitten gives them the perfect excuse to tie the spider to a more mystical origin and connect that to the spider totems.

• Thor’s magic belt is actually a nod to Norse mythology where he has a belt that makes him stronger the more he tightened it. I’m from Sweden so I know. (Sorry for my bad English)

• I kinda don’t agree with the spiders origin coming from Tony, it feels too convenient

• It would be cool to see Willam Defoe play the Iron Parrot in the MCU. And peter not trusting him since his Variant is the green goblin.

• I think in Freshman Year, they will explain everything like how he got his powers, nice explanation

• I think it would be great if in the next trilogy they reveal that oscorp dosnt exist YET as oscorp, but as a Purdue pharma type of pharmaceutical company that hasn’t gone public yet and is known as osbourne labs. from there I think they can either “go public” on the stockmarket and rebrand as oscorp, or even better is if they kill 2 birds with one stone and introduce “octavius technologies”, and it could introduce 2 important characters and also lay the groundwork for a merger of osbourn labs and octavius tech into what we know as oscorp. then that’s how they can explain why oscorp is into developing drugs, experimental serums ect AND advanced tech! there’s alot there where Peter can get a internship with one of those companies, and it could also setup alot in the way of octavius getting pushed or bought out and the animosity from it, and also sets up Peter being slap dab in the middle of the conflict. for example say Peter befriends Harry in college as a dorm mate, Peter meets his father and tries to develop a good relationship while also (in peters mind) try n help norman avoid his goblin destiny that Peter knows could be just around the corner if he isn’t careful, then Peter gets a internship at octavius labs and befriends and gets close with otto (which he also wants to try help avoiding his villainous destiny) then the merger happens n Peter is stuck in the middle as ottos friend and protégé, as well as close friends with Harry and by extension norman as well! all the drama surrounding this merger and rebranding is stressing norman and otto out, Peter is there and sees both sides but is conflicted on how to proceed in a way where (hopefully) Peter can avoid these 2 men he respects and admires turning into the villains that he KNOWS they turn into in another universe! this is all leaving out the side narrative of norman trying to replicate the super soilder serum with skrull DNA (which when the time comes will give norman the goblin abilities,as well as the ability to shape-shift into a half skrull half human looking goblin as well as being able to shape-shift back into his norman persona), and ottos side story of hiding a genetic Parkinsons like disease, and his secretly working on tech to aid him in case he loses his motor fuctions……

• I felt really sad when Tobey talked about Harry to Ned, in SpiderMan3 they really got me in the feels

• I love how the one week since his life has felt normal was when MJ found out, yet during that was like 1 week before NWH and he trusted a villain and had a gave him the stark glasses, almost blew up his own bus and hiss classmates, the entire world found out his name

• I always like to think with the Gamma commonality that if anyone had a hand in creating the spider that bit Peter that it would be the Leader who was alluded to in the Hulk movie. Just collateral damage in his quest to get his gamma on

• That’s honestly something that never crossed my mind, I honestly hope that’s not how they go with it. I got the feeling that Tony was definitely monitoring him, but I think it was more that he’d been watching what he’d been doing online, possibly having people keep an eye on him, but I think he was genuinely curious how he did what he did.

• I always wondered what MCU Peter’s relationship with Uncle Ben was. It seemed like to me he must have died earlier maybe…and/or in different circumstances.

• But in homecoming while peter was telling Mr. Harrington that he can’t go with the rest of the rest of the class to the decathlon it was shown for a brief second that the decathlon was set in October , and since homecoming is set 2 months after civil war that means civil war took place in july or august 2016

• Fun fact: in the Spiderman 2 script, it was stated that peter was on a field trip to one of Ottos labs in spiderman 1 and that was where he got the spider bite, but I guess for the theatrical cut they never address it or cut it out.
