Youngest Ambani, Baby Pandya & Tesla Heir - X Æ A-12: Lockdown Babies Of 2020

Autoplay Autoplay 1 of 15 New Beginnings The year gone by has been a challenging one. The coronavirus pandemic triggered feelings of uncertainty, anxiety, and loss of life and livelihood. The world over, people struggled to hold themselves and their families together.

Amidst this pall of doom, there was some cheer as celebrities across the world of sports, showbiz and entertainment welcomed their tiniest members. From the youngest Reliance heir to Elon Musk’s seventh son, several couples announced new beginnings.

Here’s a round-up of all celebrity babies who entered the world against a pandemic backdrop. Cameron’s Angel In early January, Cameron Diaz took to Instagram to reveal that she’d welcomed her first child - a daughter named Raddix Chloe Wildflower - with husband Benji Madden. People magazine reported that using Wildflower is Diaz’s way of thanking her ‘Charlie’s Angels’ co-star Drew Barrymore whose autobiography is titled ‘Wildflower’. The two actresses have been thick since they acted together.

The couple, while posting on Instagram, had refused to post any baby pictures, as a “mark of respect to the little one’s privacy”.

A Daisy Blooms Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom turned parents in August as they welcomed baby daughter Daisy Dove. The 36-year-old Perry, who was earlier briefly married to Russell Brand, became a mom for the first time. The singer and ‘American Idol’ judge and her actor husband, citing privacy concerns, have not posted any baby pictures online of the new member.

In October, daddy dearest gave a peek into his life with Daisy during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. In the interview, the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star revealed how he had been scoring ‘daddy points’ after helping to get Daisy to sleep. Bloom has a nine-year-old son, Flynn, from an earlier marriage with Miranda Kerr. Another Musk Is Here Two months into the lockdown, Elon Musk, again, made news. This time for different reasons. On May 6, the 49-year-old Space X CEO announced on Twitter that he and his partner, Canadian singer Grimes, had become parents to a baby boy. After the couple confirmed that they had decided to name the kid X Æ A-12, it became a Twitter trend.

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, then explained to fans and followers that Æ, a ligature of a and e known as ash, appeared in Latin and Old English but has mostly fallen out of use. However, in some languages such as Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic, Æ is classed as a letter. The singer has used Æ before, naming a song on her latest album 4ÆM. The A-12 is a Lockheed plane built for the CIA, possibly hinting at Musk’s love for gadgets in the sky. The Phoenix Rises In September, the world came to know about Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara’s baby boy, River. Two months later, in an op-ed for People, the couple talk about raising their son for the first time. The couple, who first met during the filming of ‘Her’ in 2012, named the child River, after Phoenix’s younger brother who passed away at the age of 23.

Earlier this year, Mara, who never made her pregnancy official, stepped out with a visible bump. In July 2019, she was spotted sporting a dazzling jewel on her ring finger, fuelling engagement rumours. Since then, the couple have been seen together at the Golden Globes and Oscars red carpet.

Elon Musk Believes in ‘Population Collapse,’ SpaceX to Bring Humans to Mars to ‘Save Civilization’

]

Elon Musk believes that the Earth is experiencing a “Population Collapse” and that humans need to pro-create more and bring those people to Mars via SpaceX to save civilization. The company is known to be creating its Starship program that is intended to be going towards the Red Planet to bring humans and enable space tourism, but now it has a higher purpose.

SpaceX is not only here to show off Musk’s brilliant space concepts and visions but to also save humanity from the impending doom of extinction. That would be achieved through the combination of Starship and Super Heavy Booster’s full-stack once it is operational and clear to bring humans to Mars.

Elon Musk Believes in ‘Population Collapse’

In the recent tweets of the SpaceX CEO (@elonmusk), Musk has addressed that taking care of the current and next generation is part of his goal to “set a good example” in looking into the future. The CEO believes in “population collapse” and it is something which the world is currently facing as there are fewer children that are being born.

Here, he is shown holding his child and taking care of “X Æ A-Xii,” popularly known as the child with one of the most bizarre names in the world and his nickname “X,” with his girlfriend, Grimes. In social media, the CEO said that the Earth has a problem of “population collapse” and this is something that is not known to many.

I’m trying to set a good example! Population collapse is a much bigger problem than people realize and that’s just for Earth.

Mars has a great need for people, seeing as population is currently zero.

That being said, his actions and with SpaceX’s are huge examples of taking care of the next generations and looking forward to bringing them the best possible future either on Earth or Mars.

What is ‘Population Collapse?’

Musk says that “Population Collapse” is upon us, as civilization might end up with a “bang” or “whimper,” and the latter is the most likely thing to happen. The CEO believes that the fertility rate for the current generation of women is low and that the rate of the elderly is much higher than the rate of babies, toddlers, or children. What the CEO means is that the world is now an older population or is composed more of the elderly, compared to the young ones, or the future generations. Musk believes that this is a scary thing to happen, especially as humanity may end on a “whimper” where its elderly would die, and no children or future generations to succeed them.

Musk has been rambling a lot about bringing humans to Mars and starting a civilization, but what he has not mentioned before was his belief about population collapse. SpaceX would be in the center of that, with Starship and Super Heavy acting as “Noah’s Ark” to bring the future generation and inhabit Mars.

The CEO believes that Mars is in dire need of citizens, and the way to save humanity is to make it a multi planetary species that lives both on the home planet, and its neighboring Red planet.

Zen Worry of the Day: Population Collapse

]

One of the perks — and quirks — of being a multibillionaire is having to worry about things others don’t worry about. While some of us try to douse real or manufactured fears about a population explosion, Worrier Prince Elon Musk wants us to fret over a population collapse. On Tuesday, ‘ Tesla Owners of East Bay’ (in San Francisco) lauded him for ‘making tangible efforts’ to keep population collapse at bay — these efforts include being the biological et al father of seven children (one child had passed away).His response: the shrinking number of humans is, indeed, a worry. So, how sleepless should our nights be worrying about something that old paranoid Malthus would have been overjoyed about? One projection has it that by 2100, the world population growth will be practically zero — that is, the number of people getting born will be the same as the number of people dying.And, after that, Earth could resemble a giant Japan — the real fear being not ‘dehumanisation’, but too many old people not contributing to society/economy to take care of. With Musk adding that Mars is still empty, and that he intends to have his eighth child be a girl, our worries about civilisation ending not with a bang but with empty cities are less severe. Perhaps it’s because we’re closer to the not-so-pastoral landscape of a Bandra station platform.
