The upcoming Tata Safari-rival will be revealed in mid-August

The XUV700 has been spied in flesh again in a Red colour.

It can be seen with the new Mahindra logo, which might feature on all the upcoming models.

The grille on this spied XUV700 is different from the earlier spy shot, suggesting this could be the production-spec model.

The spy video shows the XUV700’s C-shaped LED DRLs, LED headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, and rear disc brakes.

It will get 10.25-inch integrated touchscreen infotainment and digital instrument cluster powered by Amazon Alexa, drive modes, panoramic sunroof, high-beam assist, and a 360-degree camera.

The Mahindra XUV700 has been spotted yet again in a Red colour with the new Mahindra logo up front. Both the grille and logo are different from the earlier spy shots, indicating this could very well be the production model.

The new spy video shows the SUV with C-shaped LED DRLs, LED headlamps, silver skid plates, an integrated rear spoiler, large angular tail lamps, flush-fitting door handles, a chrome-plated grille, and rear disc brakes.

The teasers so far have also revealed its AdrenoX and Amazon Alexa-powered 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, drive modes, 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, driver drowsiness detection, and high-beam assist.

It is also expected to offer a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and a built-in air filter. Mahindra could also get the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), possibly including auto emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, and adaptive cruise control.

The XUV700 will be available with the Thar’s 130PS 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 150PS 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. However, the engine here will be in a higher state of tune. The SUV will also come with the option of AWD.

The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to be priced from Rs 16 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). It will take on the likes of the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.

Gets a new front grille, with bits such as dual-tone alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, and the angular rear end staying unchanged.

Features a minimalistic dashboard, with a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup featuring Mahindra’s new AdrenoX infotainment software.

Will be powered by 2.2-litre diesel and 2-litre petrol engines with manual and automatic transmissions, with front and all-wheel drive options.

Prices likely to start from Rs 16 lakh.

As we head closer to the debut of the Mahindra XUV700 three-row SUV later this month, a chance encounter on public roads revealed more exterior details. Crucially, we also realised that it will be the first Mahindra model to incorporate a new logo.

Compared to previously leaked images, the XUV700 unit spotted here sports a red body shade and a new front grille featuring an interesting slat design. If you look closer, you’ll notice the new Mahindra logo that looks pretty aggressive at this angle. The rest of the three-row SUV looks identical to previous leaks with highlights such as flush-fitting door handles, a kink above the rear wheel arches, signature LED DRLs, machined dual five-spoke alloy wheels, and an angular rear end with radical taillights.

Earlier teasers revealed a Mercedes-inspired 10.25-inch dual-screen setup for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, that will run on Mahindra’s new AdrenoX infotainment software. It will be loaded with features such as cockpit domain controller technology, Alexa AI connectivity, and a Sony 3D sound system with roof-mounted speakers. Also expect features like a panoramic sunroof, an air filter, and dual-zone climate control.

A host of safety features are on offer, including personalised safety alerts and high beam assist. It should also come with possibly Level 1 autonomous technology with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), ABS with EBD, multiple airbags and electronic stability control.

It will be powered by retuned versions of the Thar’s 130PS 2.2-litre diesel and 150PS 2-litre turbo-petrol petrol engines. A 6-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive could be limited to the base variant, with the top-spec variants likely getting a 6-speed automatic transmission and a segment-first all-wheel drivetrain. Mahindra has confirmed the diesel engine will get four drive modes, namely: Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom (Individual).

Expect the Mahindra XUV700 to be priced from Rs 16 lakh. It will rival the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari.

Mahindra will be unveiling the XUV 700 SUV soon. Earlier, the pictures of the SUV were leaked online and people did not like the design of the SUV. However, those pictures were skewed as now a video has surfaced online which shows the XUV 700 in its new red colour and it does look quite handsome.

The video has been uploaded on YouTube by MRD Cars. It is a short video but we can see the SUV clearly and it does look very different from the pictures that were leaked earlier. It is also carrying the new Mahindra logo. The XUV 700 will be the first vehicle that will be getting the new logo.

At the rear, we can see the arrow-shaped LED tail lamps and a silver faux skid plate. We can also see a rear wiper, a high mounted stop lamp and a shark-fin antenna. There are pronounced wheel arches and a rear bulge over the rear wheel arch just like the XUV 500 has. It also gets flush sitting door handles. It is not known whether they will be electrically assisted or the person would have to pull them out themselves.

All the pillars are coloured in black except the A-pillar and there is a chrome belt that runs below the window. There are multi-spoke alloy wheels that look like they have a diamond-cut design. Then we come to the front where we can see LED headlamps. There is a C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamp that surrounds the headlamp. We also get a look at the front grille which is huge and gets 6 vertical slats along with the new Mahindra logo.

Engine and gearbox

We do know that Mahindra will offer the XUV 700 with a petrol and a diesel engine. There will be a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both the engines will be the most powerful in the segment.

The petrol engine will produce around 200 PS of max power while the diesel engine will produce 185 PS of max power. Both the engines will be offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra will also offer an all-wheel-drive option on the higher variants. This would make XUV 700 unique in its segment because no other competitor offers an all-wheel-drive powertrain as of now.

Features

The XUV 700 will be equipped with a lot of features. It will come with the largest in segment panoramic sunroof, dual screens just like we have seen on Mercedes-Benz models and a new user interface which Mahindra is calling AdrenoX. It will also get Sony powered speaker system, air purifier, electric adjustment for driver seat, push-button to start/stop, keyless entry and much more.

Launch, pricing and competitors

According to the rumours, the XUV 700 will be showcased on 15th August but the launch will happen on 2nd October. These are the same dates that were chosen to launch the Thar last year. The pricing of the XUV 700 is expected to start from Rs. 16 lakhs ex-showroom. It will be going against Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
