Norton 360將加入挖礦功能
已經發展得相當成熟的防毒軟體，還有什麼發展空間呢？老牌防毒軟體Norton 360別出心裁，為產品加入挖礦功能。前身是賽門鐵克消費產品業務的NortonLifeLock宣布為下一代Norton360加入名為Norton Crypto的挖礦功能，讓用戶能在安全環境下挖取數位加密貨幣。

這項功能允許用戶挖以太（Ethereum）幣，並從昨（3）日開放用戶加入早期測試。
Norton 360指出，加密經濟成為用戶很重要的環節，但許多挖礦者必須關閉安全軟體冒著風險挖礦，他們因在電腦中執行未經檢查的程式碼造成數位加密貨幣被惡徒掠取甚至植入勒索軟體。由於挖到的加密貨幣收益一般儲存在挖礦者的硬碟中，一旦硬碟損毁或被加密，他們的數位錢包可能也跟著遺失。
因此NortonLifeLock乾脆因勢利導，在其產品中加入挖礦程式，號稱供用戶安全挖礦。Norton Crypto啟用後即利用裝置的GPU來挖Ethereum幣，用戶挖到貨幣可轉入代管於雲端的Norton Crypto Wallet，避免硬碟出錯時造成損失，也方便用戶追蹤。
Bleeping Computer分析，由於以太幣不容易挖，因此有可能NortonLifeLock也經營一個礦池，集結眾多用戶運算資源來擴大收益，該公司則從收益抽取一小部份費用，作為新的營收來源。
對要實際交易貨幣的用戶，NortonLifeLock對The Verge表示，Norton Crypto Wallet將會有個按鍵，讓用戶將加密貨幣匯入Coinbase交易平臺來轉帳或交易。
Norton Crypto預計未來幾周內，會正式經由Norton 360開放用戶使用。
